this is so powerful. as a person who suffers from cystic acne and has been plagued with acne scars for the last five years, this short film hits close to home for me. please know that having acne is not your fault. it isn’t because “you’re dirty”, it is not because “you aren’t healthy”, and it is not because you are putting “too many toxins in your body”. having acne prone skin is not your fault just like having blue eyes is not your fault. do not mentally attack yourself for something you cannot control. please be kind to your skin but most importantly, be kind to yourself. you are more than your genetic code and we will all make it through this.
I had cystic acne for about two years (puberty ugh) I washed my face so often I thought my skin would fall off. I wash my face around once a day now and never have real acne. Skin just does shit, it’s no one’s fault if you have acne even though you’re clean.
